From Phoenix, take I-17 North to AZ-69, and head towards Prescott.
From Flagstaff, take I-17 South, and then AZ-169 towards Prescott. When 169 dead ends, turn right on AZ-69 towards Prescott.
From Prescott: Highway 69 becomes GURLEY ST as you enter Prescott. Just past the historic courthouse square, turn right onto MONTEZUMA (Whiskey Row) and continue as the name changes to WHIPPLE, and then becomes IRON SPRINGS. Follow Iron Springs road out of town for about 14 miles, and turn right onto TONTO RD. Journey the dirt road for 5.4 miles. On the right you will see TOUGH COUNTRY TRAIL and a small sign for Juniper Well Ranch. Turn right down the lane, and you will have arrived! Stop at the post and push the button to activate the automatic gate, which will close automatically behind you.
PLEASE refrain from taking Contreras road. It is unmaintained and dangerous, with many blind turns and poor road conditions. There are many accidents on this road, and we don't want that to happen to you! Please take TONTO and arrive safely!
Note: Your cell phone will not work on TONTO, so please be prepared with these directions!
